Who’s Gonna Show #OneTermTommy The Door?

Good Governors Don’t Frack People

Most Pennsylvania primary elections are sleepy business. Not this one.

On May 20, 2014, an all-important primary election will be held, and it will probably determine the state’s next governor.

A whopping 55-34% of Pennsylvania voters feel that Tom Corbett does not deserve reelection, according to a recent Quinnipiac University pollPolitico Magazine has captioned Corbett “arguably the most vulnerable incumbent governor in 2014.” And, per Stephen Calabria in The Huffington Post on February 26, 2014, GOP Governor Tom Corbett Trails Each of His Democratic ChallengersIt’s one of the few causes for optimism in an otherwise fracked up commonwealth.

The May 20th primary will also set the stage for new balance of power in the state house and senate. Pennsylvania voters must choose among party candidates in primary elections, and whoever emerges victorious will run against Governor Gasbag and the Republicans, and candidates from all other political parties, in the General Election on November 4, 2014.

This is an important election cycle, and two essential sites have been providing information about fractivist-friendly candidates in Pennsylvania and counties along the New York state border:

  • Marcellus at The Polls is digging in deep, informally endorsing candidates who best support the people living in the Marcellus region. You can find a list of Fractivist Friendly candidates here: 2014 PA Candidates (and below), or join the lively debate on the popular facebook page.

Marcellus Protest founder, Gloria Forouzan, encourages the 700+ Marcellus At The Polls page members to “flex our muscles” in this Primary. “Have you reached out to help a PA fracktivist friendly candidate yet? No? What are you waiting for? Don’t just sit & click ‘Like’, that won’t win the election.

More information about fractivist candidates:

Two Berks Gas Truth members are running for the PA Democratic State Committee. Patti Rose and Rosie Skomitz were both instrumental in the PA Dems action last summer. Rosie’s running for a second term. Patti is running for the first time. Rob Rick is running for Berks County’s Dem Committee. He’s anti-fracking and one of the leaders of the huge fight against the Gas-to-Liquids facility proposed for our county. By the way, every county has a committee and getting elected to serve on it is often as simple as writing in your own name. At most, you need to get 10 people to write you in (same as the number of petition signatures you would have needed to get on the ballot). I’m a committee member and have found it extremely useful.

via Paul Roden:

PA State Representative Steve Santarsiero (D-31) Has just received the endorsement from the Sierra Club of Southeast PA. If you live in Lower Makefield Township Yardley Borough, Newtown Township, Newton Borough and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Precincts of Morrisville Borough, you are a part of his 31 Assembly District. He is on the Environment Committee and the Chair of the Southeastern PA Democratic Caucus. He is a great man and he deserves your support. He is teachable or educable on fracking. He does listen and is persuadable. He thinks climate change is real and we need to act to reverse it.

IAN THOMAS, candidate for State Rep in the 168th, is an anti-fracking candidate. The 168th District includes: Chester Heights, Edgmont, Marple (5), Media, Middletown, Newtown, Thornbury and Upper Providence in Delaware County
